13th November 2023: The 2024 KTM 990 Duke took center stage at the ongoing EICMA show in Milan, Italy, where a comprehensive showcase presented its features and details. Among its standout features is an automatic dimming light, providing a unique edge for surpassing other vehicles. The KTM 990 Duke boasts a lighter LED headlight with automatic dimming capability, allowing for automatic intensity adjustments. The bike introduces a new dashboard featuring a 5-inch fully digital instrument cluster equipped with a USB Type C port for charging. Connectivity features include Bluetooth and smartphone connectivity, along with a navigation system accessible through the KTM Connect mobile app.

Adding to its allure, the KTM 990 Duke presents an aggressive design with black and orange pet theme elements, housed within a new tubular frame. The utilization of an aluminum diecast subframe contributes to the overall lightness of the vehicle. The front view emanates a powerful presence, accentuated by a dual projector handlebar, providing a menacing aesthetic. Powering the KTM 990 Duke is a 947 cc DOHC, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke parallel-twin engine, delivering 127bhp at 9,500 rpm and 76nm of peak torque at 6,750 rpm through a 6-speed gearbox. The inclusion of PASC (Power Assisted Slipper Clutch) enhances riding ease.

In terms of hardware and suspension, the KTM 990 Duke is equipped with a 5-step adjustable 45mm43 mm WP Apex USD fork at the front and a WP Apex shock at the rear, both offering rebound and compression adjustability. Braking duties are handled by a 300mm disc brake with 4-piston calipers at the front and a 220mm disc brake with 2-piston calipers at the rear. Safety features include dual-channel ABS, traction control, and an anti-lock braking system.

While the international market will likely see the initial launch of the KTM 990 Duke, there is limited possibility of an official launch in India. If introduced, it is anticipated to be available in the Indian market between 2025-2026.
