Lightning, Rain Likely in Pune District: IMD Warns of 30–40 kmph Gusts
Pune, 6th May 2025, 10:00 PM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning for parts of Maharashtra, forecasting thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light rain, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30–40 kmph over the next few hours.
According to the alert issued at 10:00 PM IST, isolated areas in the districts of Parbhani, Hingoli, Jalna, Solapur, Nanded, Pune, and Ahilyanagar (Ahmednagar) are likely to experience unstable weather conditions between tonight and the early hours of Tuesday.
The IMD has advised residents in these regions to take necessary precautions, especially while stepping outdoors, to avoid any mishaps due to lightning strikes or strong winds. Commuters and farmers are urged to seek shelter and avoid open areas during this period of potential severe weather.
