Pune, October 14, 2020: The Pune District Collector has lifted the ban on tourism in the dam area of the district. Therefore, tourists will be able to visit all the dam areas in the district including Bhushi Dam in Lonavala for tourism. However, people will have to follow COVID19 safety measures like wearing a mask and following social distancing norms.

Tourism will resume the economic cycle of the locals, including small and big hoteliers in the tourist places.

In June, the district collector had ordered a ban on tourism in all dam areas under the Disaster Management Act to prevent the outbreak of coronavirus (Covid-19) infection.
