Police take action against 131 tourists for violating prohibitory order Lonaval mulshi rain

Pune, July 7, 2020: Amid rains, many tourists are flocking to famous tourist destinations like Lonavala and Khandala. With the lockdown still in effect, the cops are booking these tourists for violating lockdown norms.

 

Due to the ongoing pandemic, the Pune district administration has imposed a travel ban at various destinations including Khandala and Lonavala. Over 130 tourists were booked by the cops for travelling without a permit. The cops have also booked 51 people for travelling to Lonavala amidst travel ban. People who were roaming without masks were also fined. Fine of Rs 12,964 was collected from tourists for not wearing masks.

 

Because people are travelling without permits and are venturing out to tourist destinations amidst lockdown and rising Covid-19 cases, the police is taking stringent measures. They are not spearing anybody so as to stop the flocking of tourists in large numbers. The Pune district administration has urged the people not to travel to these destinations but if this continues, stricter restrictions will be imposed. The number of Covid-19 cases in Pune district has reached 29,844 with the death toll at 893.
