Lonavala: Notices Sent To Hotel Owners Under Section 149 Regarding Tourist Safety

Lonavala, 24th December 2022: Lonavala is a popular tourist destination because of its hill station in western India near Mumbai and Pune, surrounded by lush valleys.
A meeting of the Hotel Association in the Lonavla Rural Police Station area was held under the guidance of the Assistant Superintendent of Police of Lonavla Division, Satyasai Karthik. During this meeting, all hotel managers were given instructions regarding the tourists’ safety.
Additionally, following Section 149 of the Criminal Procedure Code of 1973, notices have been sent to all hotel management stating that the hotel will not engage in any illegal activity.
The hotel owners/operators alongside IPS officer Satyasai Karthik, Lonavala Rural Police Inspector Kishore Dhumal, Police Constable Nitesh Kawade, Police Naik Ankush Pawar, Police Constable Subhash Shinde, Home Guard Nivrithi Marathe was present for this gathering.
Section 149 in the Criminal Procedure Code states police prevent cognizable offences. Every police officer may interpose to prevent, and shall, to the best of his ability, prevent the commission of any cognizable offence.
