Lucknow: Railway TTE Suspended After Assaulting Passenger, Inquiry Launched

Lucknow, 18th January 2024: A shocking incident unfolded aboard the Barauni-Lucknow Express (Train No. 15203) as a ticket examiner (TTE) allegedly subjected a traveler to physical assault. The distressing episode, captured on video and brought to the public’s attention by a viral tweet from Rajesh Shahu, has ignited widespread outrage. Netizens, including Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, swiftly voiced their concerns and called for immediate action.

 

 

The victim, identified as 25-year-old Niraj Kumar Yadav, was traveling from Muzaffarpur to Lucknow with a confirmed ticket in S6. The assault was captured on video, highlighting the severity of the incident. Additionally, reports indicate that the TTE displayed abusive behavior towards other passengers in a separate video.

 

In response to the public outcry, DRM Lucknow division has taken decisive action, suspending the concerned TTE pending further investigation. The competent authority has initiated an inquiry to delve into the details of the incident and ascertain accountability.
