M. R. Kulkarni popularly known as ‘MR’ of Bank of Maharashtra passes away

Pune, February 10, 2021: Madhusudhan Ramkrishna Kulkarni known as M. R. Kulkarni who was a prominent leadership figure at the Bank of Maharashtra passed away in Pune recently after a brief illness at the age of 88.

He worked in important branches of the Bank in Mumbai, Bhopal, Dharwad, Bangalore and Solapur and was a prominent figure at Lokmangal, Pune.

MR was able to strike the balance between management functions and human approach in banking and always stood up against all sorts of injustice and had good leadership qualities. For that, he was a natural and unanimous choice to be elected as the First Officer Director on the board of Bank of Maharashtra. Subsequently, he was nominated as an Officer Director by the Government of India.

He was a true leader and a man of principles and was a rare combination of leader, friend and an executive and was loved by all.  M.R. Kulkarni was a multi-talented personality with many creative hobbies and pursuits in life, from reading, classical music, cricket, yoga, astrology, traveling and trekking in the Himalayas.  His death is a grievous loss to the Banking sector, his friends and relatives.
