Magarpatta City DC Shut after Patient Taken to Hospital, Screening of All Visitors Now

Pune, April 23, 2020: In a precautionary step, Destination Centre, popularly called as DC which is a commercial complex where all shops, banks, restaurants etc are located, at Magarpatta City in Hadapsar, has been closed for 2-3 days after a person with high fever was rushed to the hospital. Many people visit DC for buying various items, hence this step was taken, informed Satish Magar, chairman and managing director of the Magarpatta City township.
Magar further said, “A person with high fever has been taken to hospital. About 25,000 people are residing in Magarpatta City. We are taking all precautions like fumigation and sanitizing the whole area. From tomorrow, all visitors will be screened before allowing entry. Thermal temperature testing will be done. DC has been closed as it is a place where many people go. We have also stopped door to door delivery of milk.”
A message was circulating on Facebook and WhatsApp. “Patient along with 4 other family members have been taken to the hospital. DC shall remain shut from today onwards. The patient was from Cosmos. Had been showing symptoms for the past 6 days. Patient has also been roaming along with his family members in DC as well buying groceries and medicines from the medical. Also, as per my knowledge, the same medical also provides home delivery. So now all those who have been visiting DC, or the medical stores or the grocery stores, you have to be more cautious and need to report any symptoms immediately to the government helpline numbers. Magarpatta is a closed township, but there have been *** people calling out for pizza deliveries too. There are people from Magarpatta travelling out to buy fruits and veggies. Now the call is on you. What you’ll have to do.”
“We would like to inform that there is a suspected case of coronavirus found in Magarpatta City. All are requested to please do not venture out unless it is very very important. Home deliveries of all the items including milk are stopped, you have to come to the neighbourhood gates to collect it by maintaining social distancing.
All shops at DC to remain closed for next 3 days. Vegetables shall be available as per schedule on Sunday with proper and strictness of social distancing. All the people entering in any neighbourhood will be checked with Infrared Thermal meter including residents, security, housekeeping Please circulate this information to all the residents group in Magarpatta City.”
