Bhusawal, 12th November 2025: Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel promptly responded to a security alert received from the Divisional Security Control Room (DSCR), Bhusawal, after a message indicating a bomb threat was found written inside a general coach of Train No. 22177 Mahanagri Express.

The train arrived at Bhusawal station at 08:28 hrs on Tuesday, following which immediate preventive and security measures were initiated. Joint inspection teams comprising RPF, Government Railway Police (GRP), and local police authorities conducted a detailed and thorough examination of the train.

Teams involved in the inspection included RPF Bhusawal, Dog and Explosives Squad, GRP staff, City Police, Special Intelligence Branch (SIB), Crime Intelligence Branch (CIB), and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) from Jalgaon.

Extensive checks were carried out using dog squads and manual inspection methods. No suspicious object or person was found, and the objectionable message was immediately removed. After receiving clearance, Train No. 22177 was safely dispatched from Bhusawal at 08:45 hrs.

The train was continuously escorted by RPF and GRP staff up to Burhanpur and Khandwa. No suspicious or criminal activity was detected during its onward journey.

In view of the incident and prevailing nationwide security alerts, Central Railway has reinforced security arrangements to ensure passenger and railway asset safety.

Key measures include:

Maximum alert operations across all stations and operational zones.

24×7 CCTV monitoring at major stations and control rooms.

Strengthened coordination with local law enforcement and intelligence agencies.

Increased deployment of RPF, GRP, and anti-sabotage teams at platforms, yards, and critical installations.

Dog squads on standby for surprise inspections at major stations.

Continuous public announcements urging passengers to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity.

A dedicated 24×7 War Room operational at all Divisional Headquarters for real-time monitoring, response, and coordination.

Senior officials are closely monitoring the security arrangements at key locations. Passengers are requested to cooperate with security personnel during routine checks and promptly report any unattended luggage or suspicious behavior to the nearest railway authority.

Central Railway continues to maintain heightened vigilance to ensure safe and secure travel across its network.
