Mumbai, 25 April 2021: In a major decision, the Government of Maharashtra has announced that all citizens will be given Corona vaccine free of cost, informed minister Nawab Malik.

 

He said that the issue has been discussed in the state cabinet. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray may announce the decision during his address to the state on May 1.

Maharashtra has the highest number of Coronavirus disease (COVID19) cases in the country. The central government has allowed all persons above 18 years to be eligible for vaccination from May 1 and the registration for the same will be started from April 28.

At present, COVISHIELD and COVAXIN are the two vaccines available in the country. Their manufacturers Serum Institute of India (SII) and Bharat Biotech have announced that the vaccines will be available for Rs 600-1200 at private hospitals. The decision of the state government to provide free vaccine will be a major relief for a large section of society.
