Maharashtra Govt Has No Plans For Free Booster Dose Vaccine Against Coronavirus: Health Minister Rajesh Tope

Pune, 10th April 2022: Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope has informed that at present the state government had no plan to bear the cost of a booster dose of vaccine against Coronavirus disease (COVID19).

On Saturday, the minister said that the state cabinet has discussed the issue but has not taken any decision on it.

From today booster dose of the Covishield vaccine is available at private hospitals.

According to officials, the booster dose drive would be slow in the state in the first 20-25 days as people are required to pay for it.

At present, the first dose coverage in the state is 92.11% and it is 74.63% for the second dose for the 18-plus category.
