Maharashtra has a waiting period for monsoon this year

Mumbai, 26 : State has slightly prolonged waiting period for monsoon this year as per the opinion of weather experts. Despite entry of monsoon in Adman region, it is predicted to march ahead at a slower pace. This will prolong monsoon’s entry in the state of Kerala till first week of June. In state, presence of monsoon is expected not before 8th of June. The heat wave in state will continue as no change in temperature is expected till 31st of May.

Gradual decrease in maximum temperature is expected from start of June month except in east Vidarbha region. Farmers should not worry regarding delayed monsoon. They should complete all their pre-harvesting activities in time and plan as per the advice of weather department. This directions are given by agriculture department on Sunday.
