Maharashtra HSC result declared by the State Board, 90.66 percent students passed

Pune, July 16, 2020: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has declared the results for the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination 2020. The state has recorded a pass percentage of 90.66 percent, showing around a 5 percent rise from that of last year.

Unlike some other Boards, the Maharashtra State Board was able to complete the HSC examination before the nationwide lockdown was announced on March 24 in wake of Coronavirus pandemic. However, the process of evaluation and thus results got delayed because of the restriction posed by the lockdown. The result is generally announced by the end of May.

 

Out of the 14,13,687 students who had appeared for the Class XII Board examination this year, 12,81,712 have successfully cleared. The Pune division that includes Pune, Solapur and Ahmednagar districts has achieved a pass percentage of 92.50.

 

Highlights of the result

 

  • Out of the nine divisional boards under the state board, Pune, Mumbai, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Kolhapur, Nashik, Latur, Amravati and Konkan, as usual, the Konkan division has the maximum passing percentage at 95.89, while the lowest passing percentage 88.18 is in Aurangabad division.
  • Girls have outshined boys, as the pass percentage of girls is 93.88, which is 5.84 percent more than the boys (88.04 percent).
  • The pass percentage of students with disabilities is 93.57.
  • Along with the overall result, the streamwise pass percentage has also increased this year. The passing in Science stream is 96.93 percent, in Arts, it is 82.63 percent. The pass percentage of Commerce and Minimum Competency Vocational Courses (MCVC) are 91.27 and 86.07 respectively.
  • Out of the 154 subjects for which examinations were held, 26 have shown a 100 percent passing.
