Maharashtra HSC Results 2021: 99.63% Students Pass; Arts And Commerce Stream Beat Science Stream

Pune, 3rd August 2021: Commerce stream students followed by Arts beat the Science stream with 99.91% and 99.83% overall passing percentage (99.91%) at the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) results declared today by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

The Science stream recorded 99.45% while the vocational stream recorded a 98.80% passing result. Likewise, yet again the girls have outshone the boys with girls recording 99.73% while boys recorded 99.54%.

This year the State Board had cancelled the examinations due to the second wave of Covid-19 in the state. The students were evaluated on the basis of their performance in standard 10th, 11th and 12th. The examination was conducted for 160 various subjects with 70 subjects recording a 100% passing percentage.

While addressing the press conference here board chairman Dinkar Patil said, “the students evaluated by considering the three top-scoring subjects of the student in Secondary School Certificate (SSC), subject-wise marks in class 11 and examinations (practical, oral and various tests) in class 12.”

“Oral examination for languages was of 20 marks while for other subjects it was 20/30/40/50/70/100/120”, he said.

Highlights of the result

• Konkan region topped the results with overall passing percentage of 99.81% while Aurangabad recorded the lowest passing percentage with 99.34% passing percentage
• A total number of 13,19,754 students (Arts, Commerce, Science and Vocational) has enrolled for the examination of which 13,14, 965 students have passed the examination
• As many as 66871 repeaters appeared for the examination from all nine divisions of which 66,867 students passed. The total passing percentage of repeaters stands at 94.31.
• Overall passing percentage of girls is 99.81% while that of boys is 99.34%
• The passing percentage of disabled students is 99.59%
• For the first time Spanish, Chinese, Maharashtriye PRakrut, Food science and technology, home science subjects were included in the examination. Similarly, a new subject Water Security was introduced under Environment Science
