Pune, November 2, 2020: As many as 550 professors working in the medical colleges across Maharashtra are agitating by taking common leave demanding to enroll them permanently into the medical colleges. They have gone on leave from today. A total of 69 assistant professors from BJ Medical College, Pune, have also joined the protest.

These professors had worked day and night during the pandemic and thus now have demanded to enroll them permanently into the medical colleges as their appointment was on adhoc basis.

“Despite several requests to the state government to enrolled them, the requests were failed on deaf ears, thus the medical professors have gone on the leave agitation”, said Dr Nandkumar Salunkhe from BJ Medical College.
