Maharashtra: MSEDCL Receives Most Self Electricity Meter Reading From Pune
Mumbai, 6th May 2021: Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has received a good response from the consumers as the count of self-meter reading is increased in the State. In April, 2 Lakh 2 Thousand 742 Consumers sent their meter reading through the website, Mobile App, and SMS. In this, the highest is Pune having 49,950, the second-highest is Kalyan with 28,916 consumers.
As per the instructions of the Energy Minister Dr Nitin Raut, MSEDCL facilitates its consumer with the self-meter reading facility. Taking into account the positive response from the consumers, MSEDCL decided to continue this facility and also increased the number of valid days to send the reading to 4 days.
Also, a special facility of sending meter reading through SMS is also made available for the consumers during this emergency period of Corona Pandemic. In the last month in March 1 lakh 35 Thousand 261 consumers had sent their self-meter readings. In April, there was a rise of 67,481.
Every month there is a fixed date for taking the photometer reading of the LT Consumers between the 1st and 25th of the month. Every month one day prior to this meter reading date, MSEDCL appeals to its Consumers through an SMS to send their self-meter reading. After receiving this message, the Consumers can send their self-meter reading in (kWh) through mobile app or www.mahadiscom.in website and now also through SMS.
In the last month in April, 2 lakh 2 Thousand 742 Consumers sent their self-meter reading. In this, Pune-49950, Kalyan- 28916, Nashik- 22330, Bhandup-18093, Baramati- 13733,Jalgaon- 10877, Aurangabad- 10100, Kolhapur- 8470, Nagpur- 7269, Akola- 7180, Latur- 6085, Amravati- 5662, Konkan- 4223, Gondia-3464, Nanded-3262 and 3138 Consumers from Chandrapur.
In the Mahavitaran Mobile App, the consumer can click on the ‘Submit meter reading’ and then put the (kWh) reading (without the kW or Kva) click the photo and submit. Apart from this, the Consumer can also send the meter reading through www.mahadiscom.in
Self-meter reading will help the consumers to have a regular check on the meter and its reading. Accordingly, the consumer can control their consumption. The consumers will know whether the bill is according to the reading. The Consumers can make immediate complaints about the faulty meter. If the reading rises suddenly, the consumer can find out the reason behind it. To resolve any issues regarding meter or reading, the consumer can complain. The consumer will have to spend just 2-3 minutes a month taking a self-meter reading. To get these various benefits, MSEDCL has appealed to its consumers to send self-meter readings.
