Maharashtra: Over 2,000 Teachers Test COVID Positive

Pune, December 5, 2020: As many as 2,212 teachers and 682 non-teaching staff has tested Coronavirus disease (COVID19) positive across Maharashtra. The state has made it mandatory to conduct the Covid test after the schools from class IX to 12 were allowed to open after the Diwali break.

There are 2,27,775 teachers and 92,343 non-teaching staff in the state. So far the Covid test of 1,51,539 teachers and 56,340 non-teaching staff have been conducted.

Chandrapur district has the highest number of teachers (265) and non-teaching staff (115) who have tested positive for Covid-19.
