Maharashtra Startup Week Announced to Promote Innovative Startups
Pune, 2nd July 2024: The Maharashtra State Innovation Society, under the Department of Skill, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation of the State Government, will organize ‘Maharashtra Startup Week’ to promote innovative startups. Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha has invited interested startups to participate by visiting the website https://www.msins.in and applying by August 1, 2024.
Minister Lodha shared this information during his visit to Pune for Skill Development Day. He stated, “Maharashtra Startup Week is a major initiative by the state government to provide startups an opportunity to collaborate with the government and bring innovation to administration.”
The primary objective of this event is to integrate innovative products and services from startups into government systems. Twenty-four winning startups will receive office orders worth up to Rs 15 lakh each to pilot their products and services with various government departments.
Startups working in the fields of agriculture, education and skills, administrative technology, health, mobility, advanced technology, smart infrastructure, and sustainable sectors (clean energy, waste management, water management) are encouraged to apply for participation.
Maharashtra Startup Week has successfully concluded five times, promoting the startup ecosystem. Over 120 startup winners are currently collaborating with various government organizations and departments, including the National Health Mission, Mahadistribution, Relief and Rehabilitation Department, Rural Development Department, and various municipal corporations and district offices.
In addition to Maharashtra Startup Week, an all-India level conclave will soon be held to expand the scope of the event. This conclave aims to foster collaboration between Maharashtra’s startup ecosystem and investors nationwide, helping startups access investment opportunities and share experiences among startups, investors, and industry experts across the country.
To achieve the objectives of the Maharashtra State Innovation Startup Policy, various schemes, activities, and programs related to the startup and innovation sector are being implemented by the Maharashtra State Innovation Society. These initiatives include the establishment of incubators, Grand Challenges, Hackathons, Quality Assurance and Certification Funding Scheme, and Intellectual Property Rights Funding Scheme. These programs provide assistance and guidance to new entrepreneurs in the state.
