Maharashtra State Government To Establish Multi-Purpose Computer Centres In Every District For Education Enhancement

Pune, 28th October 2023: The School Education Department has announced its decision to establish multi-purpose computer centers in each district across the state. This strategic move aims to maximize the integration of technology within the education sector, fostering a robust digital infrastructure for online education, training, and evaluation.

 

As per the published directive from the School Education Department, these computer centers, featuring 50 to 150 computer seating capacities, will be established to facilitate the state’s educational technology goals.

 

In alignment with the National Education Policy’s emphasis on digital infrastructure, the department is keen on setting up e-libraries and study rooms in every district. To fulfill this mandate, the establishment of multi-purpose computer centers has been sanctioned. The decision was reached during a high-level secretary committee meeting, subsequently receiving approval from a high-powered committee within the finance department.

 

An estimated budget of approximately Rs 60 crore has been earmarked for the construction of these computer centers. The responsibility for executing this scheme has been entrusted to the State Project Director of the Maharashtra Primary Education Council.

 

This strategic initiative aims to provide ample digital resources, aiming to enhance educational access and quality across all districts, aligning with the state’s commitment to bolstering the digital educational landscape.
