The convention aimed to broad-base capital markets initiatives for MSMEs, to promote industrial development and to encourage entrepreneurial participation towards “Make in Maharashtra” coupled with “Inclusive Growth”.
Shri Subhash Desai, Hon’ble Minister for Industries and Mining, Government of Maharashtra, addressed gathered MSMEs entrepreneurs. Maharashtra has been the reflection of India’s growth for decades. Being the biggest contributor to India’s GDP, Maharashtra has always remained in the forefront of country’s economic development. If India has to grow at 8 per cent, Maharashtra has to grow 10 per cent.Pune Industrial Boomtown is the second largest city in the state of Maharashtra after Mumbai with Pune is next emerging business capital.

SME sector in India is growing at an exceptionally fast pace and has truly become the backbone of India’s GDP growth. The role of SMEs in employment creation, innovation, and encouraging an entrepreneurial spirit has been crucial in fostering competitiveness in the economy and boosting inclusive growth. SME sector is a strong vehicle for inclusive growth, creating local demand and consumption and is the fountain head of several innovations, especially in the manufacturing and service sectors. In order to facilitate SMEs and provide them the platform for growth capital, the Government and SEBI launched SME Exchanges.

Since inception, 367 companies got listed on SME exchange of which, Maharashtra ranks 2nd in terms number of companies listed and funds raised on SME exchange after Gujarat. A total of 108 companies are listed from Maharashtra on SME platforms which accounts for 29% of the total number of companies listed.

“Share of Maharashtra-based companies has been promising better since the launch of SME platforms. 108 companies have got listed from Maharashtra and clocked handsome returns cumulatively. SMEs from Maharashtra represent diverse industry base, finance, textiles, electronics, logistics, IT, agro, service, infrastructure, chemicals, to name a few.”

Pune has transformed from university town to a manufacturing hub.Over last decade numerous automobile manufacturers and ancillary companies have invested heavily to set up state-of-the-art production facilities in Pune and this makes Pune an Industrial power house. Collectively there are ~2700 SMEs in Pune out of which only 5 are listed and raised growth capital, considering the huge untapped SME market Pantomath along with Govt of Maharashtra arranged its 3rd MSME convention in Pune after 2 successful events in Nagpur and Aurangabad.

Shri Devendra Fadnavis Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, congratulated Pantomath for arranging MSME convention across Maharashtra – Said such initiatives are important as they create visibility and credibility amongst SMEs besides inspiring them for wealth creation in a letter to Pantomath. Shri Suresh Prabhu Minister of Commerce and Industry communicated with gathered SMEs through video communication.

Further, Mr. Vishwanath Rajale Joint Directors, Directorate of Industries discussion onnew policy initiatives of Govt for MSME sector was very helpful for gathered. Dr. Anant Sardeshmukh, Director General, Member of Executive board, MCCIA gave overview of MSME’s and Pune and urged Govt to support more to medium sized business. YES Bank’s Regional leader Mr. Neerej Medhekar explain easy banking for SMEs, further he added that it is more easy to give loan to listed SME’s than an unlisted.

In experience sharing from MSME entrepreneurs who raised funds from public recently to give practical first-hand inputs to gatheredMr Jignesh Raval, MD Sintercom India Limited Pune, congratulated Mr Mahavir Lunawat for arranging such convention in Pune and further appealed Pune based MSMEs to take benefit of SME listing, he said listing gives perpetual existence to the business. Further Mr Vijay Gupta, MD Softtech shared his experience in listing process. Further people on Dias had Q&A session with SMEs on SME listing, debt raising and other operational problems faced by them.

In vote of thanks Mr Mahavir Lunawat,Managing Director Pantomath Group thanked gathered along with chief guest and other speakers and announced opening of Pantomath branch office opening in Pune. The convention received overwhelming response, more than 300 industries from Pune, Satara, Kolhapur and Baramati and other parts of Pune region participated at the convention despite of long weekend.
