Major Accident At Khambatki Tunnel On Pune-Bangalore National Highway; Two Dead And Five Seriously Injured
Pune, 30th January 2023: Two people died and five others were seriously injured in a horrific accident that took place in the Khambatki tunnel in the Bhuinj area when the driver lost control of the car. A 1.5-year-old girl was also injured in the accident. The accident took place in the early hours of Monday (January 30) morning.
The information received from the incident site is that the Saraf family from Pune had gone to Gokarna Mahabaleshwar by car. While returning to Pune after the trip, their car met with an accident in the Khambatki tunnel. As the driver fell asleep, he lost control of the car and the car crashed into the embankment on the road.
In this accident, two people died on the spot and five people were seriously injured. A 1.5-year-old girl is also among the injured and the injured have been admitted to Joglekar Hospital in Shirwal.
Due to this accident, there was a traffic jam in the Khambatki tunnel. The Bhuinj police immediately rushed to the spot and removed the accident vehicle, smoothed the traffic, and admitted the injured to the hospital.
