Man Duped of Rs 10 Lakh in Railway Job Scam; Case Registered in Pune

Pune, 29th November 2024: A man was allegedly cheated of ₹10 lakh on the pretext of securing a job in the railways. The Bundgarden police have registered a case against the accused, identified as Rajesh Dinkar Rajguru (50), a resident of Pathardi Shivar, Nashik.
The complainant, residing in Chinchwad, revealed that he first met Rajguru in 2021. During their interactions, Rajguru claimed to have connections with railway officials and promised to secure a job for the complainant’s acquaintance. Believing his assurances, the complainant paid ₹10 lakh to Rajguru in multiple installments, both in cash and online.
Despite receiving the payment, Rajguru failed to arrange the promised job. He later emailed the complainant a fake appointment letter for the position of health inspector in the railways, which raised suspicion. Upon investigation, the letter was found to be fraudulent.
The complainant recently lodged a complaint at the Bundgarden police station, Pune City Police, after confirming the forgery. Police Sub-Inspector Chavan is conducting further investigation.
