Man falls into 250 feet gorge at Sinhagad while taking Photographs

Pune 29 0ct 2018: Tushar Dalvi, a 28 year old from Shukrawar Peth suffered serious injuries after falling into a 250 feet gorge near Baroodkhana point at Sinhagad fort. Sinhagad is a popular trekking and picnic destination for people of Pune and near-by areas.

Tushar Dalvi was admitted to a Private hospital after the accident. Though he is out of danger, Tushar suffered serious injuries on his face, shoulder, back and waist.

When asked about the accident, Ashok Shelke the inspector of Haveli Police said, “There are two conflicting versions on how Tushar Dalvi fell down on Sunday morning. Local villagers and tourists at the fort told police that Dalvi fell down while taking photographs but his friends claimed that he fell down after he lost balance while walking on a dirt route near the Baroodkhana point on the fort. We will verify both the claims.We will know the reason behind the accident only after Dalvi’s statement.”

Tushar Dalvi had come to Sinhagad on Sunday morning along with his friends Nilesh Raghav, Mandar Shinde and Pratik Jadhav.

Datta Jorkar, member of Sinhagad Ghera forest committee and a local villager said that forest guards and local villagers rushed to the valley where he had fallen down. He was taken out safely on a stretcher. According to local villagers and eye witnesses Tushar fell down while taking photographs.
