Pune, 7th October 2021: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in connection with the arrest of Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan in a drug case. On Wednesday, the NCP said that Aryan Khan and Arbaaz Merchant were brought to the NCB office in Mumbai by private persons.

NCP spokesperson and minister Nawab Malik said that the two people who came with them, one was a BJP worker Manish Bhanusali and the other was K Gosavi who is a fraud claiming to be a private detective. Malik questioned the NCB about private persons engaged in the raid.

Gosavi is seen taking a selfie with Aryan Khan while Bhanushali is seen in a video clip taking Arbaaz Merchant to the NCB office.

Who is Gosavi?

According to Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Landge, in-charge of Faraskhana Police station, Pune city police, an FIR was registered against Kiran Gosavi at the police station on 29 May 2018 for allegedly cheating Chinmany Deshmukh of Kasba Peth of Rs 3.09 lakh under the pretext of providing him with a job in Malaysia.

However, when the complainant reached Malaysia he learnt about the fraud by Gosavi who operated KPG Dreamz Solutions company based in Ghatkopar, Mumbai. Gosavi did not provide the promised job.

Based on a complaint from Deshmukh, Gosavi was booked for offences under sections 419 (impersonation), 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Chargesheet was filed in the court as the accused was not found. He is still wanted in the case, Inspector Landge said.

The complainant, a hotel management graduate, had met Gosavi after seeing his job advertisement on Facebook. He had paid Rs 3.09 lakh in instalments.

Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Deputy DG Gyaneshwar Singh described the NCP’s allegations as “baseless” and said the two persons were among 10 independent witnesses (called panch witness in legal parlance) in the panchnama.

In a criminal investigation, a panchnama is used to support evidence of the investigation conducted at the crime scene and seizure of material, if any, from the accused. The panchnama proceedings are recorded before the panch or witness.

Bhanusali, a BJP worker from Dombivli, has told media that he had received a tip-off about the drugs party onboard the Mumbai-Goa cruise ship on October 2. Acting on his information, NCB staff boarded the ship disguised as passengers busted the rave party. Eight persons including Aryan Khan were arrested. Bhanusali had also accompanied NCB team for the raid.
