Sangli – Revenue minister Chandrakant Patil on Tuesday said that earlier lakhs of Marathas had done peaceful protests but no violence has taken over. It seems some anti-social elements have infiltrated the movement to defame the Marathas and create law and order problem in Maharashtra. He asked whether by breaking vehicles they will get reservation ?

Kakasaheb Shinde who participated in the Maratha Morcha agitation had committed suicide by jumping in the Godavari river on Monday.

Patil also commented on this. He said that it is very sad that the young man Shinde lost his life. But this is not the way. We are ready to discuss with the agitators. We have done whatever the government could to do. Now everything is in the hands of the court, Patil added.

The entire nation had watched how lakhs Maratha could gather and hold peaceful march. The Maratha community members were also doing cleanliness drive where they took the march. But, now, some incidents have led to a fierce uprising. Who is responsible for lakhs of warkaris who are stuck in Pandharpur because of the same morcha that has been praised worldwide? Patil asked this question.
