Pune, July 7, 2020: The Coronavirus pandemic has been going on from the past six months. The most important ways of fighting the virus are sanitizing and washing hands frequently and wearing face masks while going out. In most parts of the country, going out without a mask is an offence.

During these crucial times when the cases keep rising, the Government of India has removed sanitizers and masks from the list of essential commodities. On March 14, hand sanitizers and masks were listed in the Essential Commodity Act by the government because people were panic buying these items during the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to news reports, this decision was taken because the government has assured that currently there is an abundant supply of hand sanitizers and masks and India is also exporting these items.

Many people were displeased with this decision and feared that since these items will be removed from essential commodities, the prices will go up and hoarders will resort to panic buying and those in need will be left without them.
