MHADA Relaxes Income Proof Requirement for Pune Housing Scheme Applicants, Applicants Allowed to Submit Income Proof From Either 2024-25 or 2025-26
Pune, 3rd September 2026: In a relief to applicants facing difficulties in submitting income documents, the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has decided to accept income from either of the last two financial years for allotment of flats under the Pune Housing and Area Development Board’s 15 per cent Social and 20 per cent Inclusive Housing schemes.
The Pune Housing Board, a regional board of MHADA, published an advertisement for the schemes on August 24, 2026, with the online application process beginning at noon the same day. Applicants are required to submit either an income certificate issued by the Tehsildar’s office or an Income Tax Return (ITR) online as proof of income.
The Board had initially asked applicants to submit an income certificate or ITR for the financial year 2025-26. However, several applicants who had filed their ITRs for 2025-26 were facing difficulties as the returns had been filed recently and the Income Tax Department had not yet made the certificates available for verification.
Considering these difficulties, MHADA has now decided to accept income proof for either financial year 2024-25 or 2025-26.
Pune Housing and Area Development Board Chairman Shivaji Adhalrao Patil appealed to applicants to take note of the revised provision while submitting their applications.
