MIM party corporator booked for raping woman corporator

Pune, May 13, 2019 : The Pimpri-Chinchwad police have booked MIM party corporator Matin Rashid Sayyed of Aurangabad, on charges of raping a woman corporator at various places. Police have also booked his brother and brother-in-law for molesting the woman. Matin has been already suspended from the party.

The FIR in this regard was registered on Sunday at Chakan police station. Senior police inspector Sunil Pawar, in-charge of the police station, said that the accused corporator Matin Rashid Sayyed, his brother Mohsin Rashid Sayyed and brother-in-law Hamid Siddiqui have been booked for offences under sections 354 (outraging modesty of woman), 376 (rape) etc under the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to police, both corporators are acquaintance. He told the 27-year-old woman that her mother is ill and took her and her two children to Khandala. He threatened the woman with a pistol and molested her. Later he raped her at various lodges in Aurangabad and other places after feeding her sedatives. His brother and brother-in-law also molested her, police said.

DCP Smartna Patil said that Chakan police are further investigating the case.
