Minister of Railways to Inaugurate Various Railway Facilities over Pune Division on July 18

Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Minister of Railways, will inaugurate the new Pune Divisional Railway Manager’s Office Building, New FOBs at Jejuri and Daund (New FOB with lifts) & Dedicate the renovated Goods Shed at Satara by remote at Pune on 18.7.2015 in esteemed presence of Shri Prakash Javadekar, Hon’ble Minister of State for Environment, Forests & Climate Change (Independent Charge), Govt. of India, Cabinet Ministers and State Ministers from Government of Maharashtra, Rajya Sabha MPs, Lok Sabha MPs, MLAs, Mayor of Pune and President Zilla Parishad, Pune.

 

New Divisional Railway Manager’s Office Building, Pune

New DRM office building has been constructed on R.B.M. Road with total 9753 square meter area and at a cost of Rs.19.7 Crore. The construction commenced in 2007. The building consists of three floors. Each area is aesthetically designed with proper workstations, infrastructure and modular furniture. Conference hall, Visitors’ lounge and canteen are also available. It is quite spacious with adequate parking space in the stilt. Rainwater harvesting is also being provided in the building. All Divisional offices have now come at one place. This will provide a good working environment and also provide convenient and effective service to the customers.

 

Foot Over Bridge at Jejuri

Jejuri railway station is an important Station on Pune – Satara Section. Jejuri is having one of the famous temples of Maharashtra dedicated to Lord Khandoba. New FOB which is 2.44 m width has been constructed at a cost of Rs.60 lakh due to which the movement amongst platforms by the passengers will become safe and easy.

 

Foot Over Bridge at Daund with Lifts

Daund railway station has 6 platforms and handles 87 trains per day and 90 lakh passengers per year.  New FOB which is 4.88 m wide and 152 m long, along with four number of lifts for all platforms has been constructed at a cost of Rs.9.76 crore.

This will be of great convenience to senior citizen and differently abled passengers.

 

Satara  Goods  Shed

Satara Goods Shed handles about 13 rakes per month. To reduce terminal detention in loading/unloading of goods at the shed, the Circulating area has been improved by using released Railway PSC sleepers as flooring which is a new and innovative method at a cost of Rs.40 lakhs. It provides very strong, sturdy and long lasting surface to Goods Shed. The approach road and labour rest rooms have been newly constructed.
