New Delhi, 29th June 2023: The Central Board for Film Certification (CBFC) has released an official statement addressing the controversy surrounding the trailer of the film ‘Bahattar Hoorain.’ In response to misleading media reports, the CBFC clarified that the film has not been refused certification, contrary to the circulating rumors.

According to the statement issued today, the CBFC stated, “Misleading reports are being circulated in certain sections of the media that a film and its trailer titled ‘Bahattar Hoorain (72 Hoorain)’ has been refused certification by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).”

Furthermore, the CBFC emphasized that the film ‘Bahattar Hoorain (72 Hoorain)’ was actually granted an ‘A’ certification on October 4, 2019. The trailer of the film is currently undergoing the necessary evaluation process as per the guidelines outlined in Section 5B(2) of the Cinematograph Act, 1952, after being submitted to the CBFC on June 19, 2023.

The CBFC clarified, “The applicant was requested to provide the required documentary submissions, and upon receipt, the certification was granted with certain modifications. A show cause notice outlining the modifications was issued to the applicant/filmmaker on June 27, 2023, and the response or compliance from the applicant is awaited.”

In light of these developments, the CBFC appealed to the public and media outlets to refrain from spreading misleading reports while the matter is still under review. The board urged that accurate information be disseminated regarding the ongoing due process.
