Mithila Samaj Sanstha, Pune Celebrates Bihar Diwas with Grandeur

Wagholi, 24th March 2025: Under the “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” campaign, Mithila Samaj Sanstha, Pune, organized a grand celebration of Bihar Diwas on Sunday. The event saw the enthusiastic participation of over 200 attendees, including dignitaries, political leaders, and members of the Bihari community in Pune.
The chief guest for the occasion was Darbhanga MP Gopal Jee Thakur, who urged all Biharis to travel back to their home state and exercise their voting rights in the upcoming state assembly elections. He highlighted the progress Bihar has made under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership over the past decade, citing the recent inauguration of AIIMS in Darbhanga and the upcoming metro project.
The event also witnessed the presence of BJP Bihar State Co-Treasurer Ashutosh Shankar Singh, BJP North Indian Front leader Jitendra Singh, Bihar BJP leaders Shravan Chaudhary and Uday Shankar Chaudhary. Among the local dignitaries, former Wagholi village Sarpanch Rambhau Dabhade, social worker Sandeep Aba Satav, and BJP Wagholi city president Vijay Jachak attended the event, extending their support to the community’s initiatives.
During the program, members of the Mithila Samaj Sanstha put forward several key demands to MP Gopal Jee Thakur and other political leaders:
Daily services of train number 11033/11034 between Pune and Darbhanga.
Daily air service from Pune to Darbhanga.
Construction of a “Mithila Bhavan” in Pune to serve as a cultural and community center.
Responding to these demands, MP Gopal Jee Thakur assured that upon reaching Delhi, he would take up the matter with the Railway Minister to push for a daily train service between Pune and Darbhanga.
