Modi’s mother watches him become PM again
Gandhinagar, Gujarat : Heeraben, mother of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was overwhelmed with emotion to watch on TV the swearing-in ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday.
Heeraben clapped as President Ram Nath Kovind administered the oath of office to Modi after watching the live telecast on television at her house. She resides with her younger son Pankaj in ‘Vrindavan Bungalows’ in Raysan village near Gandhinagar.
After winning the Lok Sabha elections, Modi had come to meet his mother and spent about 20 minutes with her, touching her feet and seeking blessings.
Modi (68) was on sworn in as country’s Prime Minister for a second term, heading the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government. About 6000 guests were present during the ceremony.
