Mohammadwadi–Undri–Pisoli Welfare Group Serves Warkaris, Promotes Harmony During Palkhi Procession

Mohammadwadi, 11th July 2026 : Demonstrating the spirit of seva and communal harmony, the Mohammadwadi–Undri–Pisoli Welfare Group organised a refreshment drive for Warkaris during the annual Palkhi procession on Saturday, distributing snacks and safe drinking water to thousands of devotees passing through the area.
The service initiative was held at Ambedkar Hotel Chowk near Aftab Caterers in Undri–Pisoli, where volunteers warmly welcomed the Warkaris and offered refreshments to support them on their spiritual journey. The drive reflected the values of compassion, unity, and selfless service associated with the centuries-old pilgrimage.
Corporator Sweta Tai Sachin Ghule attended the programme and appreciated the volunteers for their dedication to serving the devotees. Sachin Ghule and Rohan Gaikwad also participated in the distribution drive and interacted with the Warkaris.
“Serving the Warkaris is a privilege for us. Through this initiative, we wanted to spread the message of peace, brotherhood, and communal harmony while supporting devotees on their spiritual journey,” said a representative of the Mohammadwadi–Undri–Pisoli Welfare Group.
Another representative added, “The Palkhi procession unites people beyond religion and community. We are grateful to every volunteer and supporter who helped make this service initiative successful, and we will continue to organise such programmes in the future.”
The organisers thanked all volunteers, supporters, and local residents who contributed to the success of the event, stating that such community-driven initiatives strengthen social bonds and inspire people to work together for the welfare of society.
The annual Palkhi procession, one of Maharashtra’s most revered spiritual traditions, draws lakhs of Warkaris every year. Along the route, several organisations and citizens participate in seva activities by providing food, drinking water, medical assistance, and other essential support to the pilgrims.
