More NDRF teams from Pune sent to Tamilnadu

With 50 teams in Chennai, Tamilnadu and 2 teams in Pondicherry, NDRF has deployed teams in flood affected coastal area in east. With more than 1000 personnel and 116 boats NDRF teams are working day and night to save as many victims as possible, affected by this deluge.

Since their deployment in the area NDRF has saved about 7400 victims alive and recovered 4 dead bodies.
4 teams from Pune are also being airlifted.

The teams are having trained deep divers, swimmers and are equipped with UAV ( unmanned aerial vehicle ) netra , Satellite phones, State-of-the-art satellite antenna, deep diving sets, cutters , life jackets , lifebuoys, rope , medicines, food packets, drinking water etc to deal with the disaster.
