Motherhood Hospital’s slogan ‘Cheers to Women’s Health’ for 7th Pinkathon organized in Pune
11th November 2019, Pune: Motherhood Hospitals, India’s fastest growing network of women and children’s hospital collaborated with the national capital’s much-awaited breast cancer awareness run Pinkathon, by becoming their official health partner for the event. The slogan of Motherhood hospital, Kharadi, Pune, was ‘Cheers to Women Health,’ that highlights the fact that women should take charge of their health in order to stay healthy and encouraged them to adopt better lifestyle measures to curb many health-related issues.
Breast cancer is currently the most common cancer among Indian women, both in terms of incidence as well as mortality, with proportional prevalence in younger age-groups being higher than the global average. The government has already laid down four priority cancers — breast cancer, cervical cancer, oral cancer, and lung cancer which together constitute 41 per cent of the cancer burden. To create awareness regarding breast cancer, Pinkathon plays a vital role. This year, women & children’s specialty hospital Motherhood has become the official health partner of 7th Pinkathon organized in Pune.

Dr Krishna Mehta, Facility Director, Motherhood Hospital Kharadi said, “First-aid assistance was provided to the participants of the various categories of run in Pinkathon. Motherhood Hospital’s ambulances along with a team of medical professionals including doctors, nurses and paramedical staff were stationed at various points on the running route to handle any medical emergency. Moreover, health desks were also set up, where registered participants collected their running kits and checked their BP and blood sugar levels so that they know their vitals before running and can improve themselves and get fit for the run.”
