MP Medha Kulkarni Issues Directives to Boost Ayushman Bharat and Jan Arogya Yojana in Pune

Pune, 19th July 2024: A crucial meeting regarding the “Ayushman Bharat Yojana” and “Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana” was conducted yesterday at the District Collector’s office in Pune.

Rajyasabha MP Dr. Medha Kulkarni, the head of Maharashtra’s Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Prakash Shete, and key stakeholders from Pune district administration were present in the meeting.

Key discussion during the meeting included an assessment of hospitals providing adequate responses and other Hospitals which are lagging behind in providing necessary support to the patients. MP Kulkarni futher delved into the reasons for the underperformance of certain hospitals and suggested strategies to improve their services were discussed.

It was noted that only 50% of the expected Ayushman Bharat cards have been issued in Pune district, highlighting the need for enhanced efforts to meet the target. Instructions were provided to accelerate the card issuance process to achieve the desired objectives.

MP Kulkarni, as the head of Ayushman Bharat Maharashtra, directed Shete with specific instructions:

1. If the head of the family has a card, it is not necessary to issue cards for all household members.
2. Immediate measures should be taken to address the issue of the 12-digit number not being generated under the Food Security Scheme, which is causing significant inconvenience to citizens.
3. All hospitals should be included under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana and Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana, with efforts to implement these schemes as widely as possible.

The meeting was attended by District Collector Suhas Divase, Dr. Nagnath Empalle (Civil Surgeon), Abhay Tidke (Assistant District Health), Swati Lokhande (Senior District Coordinator Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana), PM Andhale (Inspector Charity Commissioner Office Pune), and representatives from various hospitals.
