MPs Raise Constituency-Specific Railway Demands at Central Railway Meeting in Pune
Pune, 19th August 2026: Central Railway General Manager Rajeev Shrivastava on Wednesday held a meeting with Members of Parliament from Pune, Solapur and adjoining constituencies to discuss railway-related demands and passenger amenities.
The meeting was held at the Conference Hall of the Divisional Railway Manager’s office in Pune on August 19, 2026, and was attended by Principal Heads of Departments of Central Railway and Divisional Railway Managers of Pune and Solapur divisions.
Members of Parliament who participated included Murlidhar Mohol (Pune), Shrirang Appa Barne (Maval), Omprakash Bhupalsing Rajenimbalkar (Dharashiv), Dhairyasheel Rajsinh Mohite Patil (Madha), Amol Ramsing Kolhe (Shirur), Nilesh Dnyandev Lanke (Ahilyanagar), Bhaskar Murlidhar Bhagare (Dindori), Bajrang Manohar Sonwane (Beed), Vishaldada Prakashbapu Patil (Sangli), Dhairasheel Mane (Hatkanangale), Shivaji Bandappa Kalge (Latur), Jyoti Waghmare (Rajya Sabha) and Medha Kulkarni (Rajya Sabha).
Shrirang Appa Barne was elected by consensus as the chairperson of the committee.

During the meeting, MPs raised demands concerning railway infrastructure, train services, passenger facilities and overall improvements in their respective constituencies. They also discussed measures aimed at improving passenger convenience.
The MPs appreciated the railway initiatives and schemes, including the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, Vande Bharat Express, Amrit Bharat Express and special train services.
The issues and questions raised by the MPs were addressed by Central Railway officials during the meeting. The Railway administration also assured the members that their suggestions would be considered for improving railway services and passenger convenience.
Earlier, the General Manager welcomed the participating MPs and presented an overview of Central Railway’s achievements.
Deputy General Manager K. K. Mishra conducted the proceedings. Pune Divisional Railway Manager Rajesh Kumar Verma and Solapur Divisional Railway Manager Sujeet Mishra made separate presentations on the achievements and activities of their respective divisions.
