MUDRA Promotion Camp to Create awareness and Promote flagship Schemes in Mumbai tomorrow
Mumbai, October 10, 2017 : Government of India seeks to promote digital payment methods to encourage consumers and merchants to increasingly shift to these payment modes. To facilitate this, Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency ( MUDRA) Promotion Camps are being arranged at 50 locations throughout the Country to reach out to people and facilitating various modes of digital payments enabling users to transact anytime from anywhere and create awareness on various financial inclusion instruments. These campaigns aim at spreading awareness and promoting various flagship schemes of the Central Government; MUDRA in particular. The Camp will be held in Mumbai University Convocation Hall, Fort, Mumbai on October 11, 2017 at 10.30 am.
The Mudra Promotion Campaigns will be organised by the District Magistrate and coordinated by Mission-Director of Maharashtra under the supervision of Chief Secretary of Maharashtra. Bank of Maharashtra, Convener, State Level Bankers’ Committee for Maharashtra will provide related help and assistance. Participants for the camp include, NABARD, Banks, Life Insurance Corporation of India, The New India Assurance Company Limited, United India Insurance Company Limited, The Oriental Insurance Company Limited, National Insurance Company Limited, National Payments Corporation of India and Unique Identification Development Authority of India.
Chief Guest for the function at Mumbai will be General (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh, Minister of State for External Affairs. Shri Vinod Tavade, Minister of Higher and Technical Education, Marathi Bhasha and Cultural affairs, Government of Maharashtra and Smt Panjaka Munde, Minister, Rural Development Women and Child Development, Government of Maharashtra will be the Guests of Honour for the function.
General(Retd.) V.K.Singh will inaugurate the function by lighting of lamp and address the gathering, Downloading BHIM app for local important persons including one merchant and one customer, making a transaction between them through BHIM app for very small purchase, interaction with Mudra loan achievers and token Mudra loan distribution will be highlights of the function. The chief guest will then inspect the stalls of the participants.
The event will be day-long and all facilities like aadhaar enrollment with update, opening of accounts, subscribing for PM’s social security schemes etc will be available for people under one umbrella.
