Narhe, 24th February 2024: On Saturday morning, a speeding truck collided with multiple vehicles near Pune’s Navale Bridge, resulting in the damage of 10 vehicles and causing minor injuries to a few individuals, as reported by the police.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the truck, travelling from Katraj towards Navale Bridge, rear-ended several vehicles near the bridge around 11 am. This led to a chain reaction, with some of the vehicles colliding with each other.

The mishap damaged not only the truck but also five cars, two tempos, a state transport bus, and other vehicles, according to the police.

Upon receiving information about the accident, a team from Sinhagad Road police station and traffic police promptly arrived at the scene. An official probe into the incident has been initiated.

It’s worth noting that the stretch of the Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway between Katraj and Narhe, which encompasses the accident site, is known for its high accident rate. Additionally, this highway section features two significant accident black spots – Navale Bridge and Selfie Point.

A similar incident occurred on February 16, where seven people sustained injuries when a speeding dumper collided with a private bus near Navale Bridge.
