Mumbai: Andheri Police Register Fraud Case: Actress Karishma Tanna’s Husband and Actor Sameer Kochhar Allege Rs 1 Crore Scam

Mumbai, 22nd November 2023: Actress Karishma Tanna, known for her role in the Netflix web series ‘Scoop,’ along with her husband Varun Bangera and actor Sameer Kochhar, has lodged a complaint with the Andheri police, claiming a fraud amounting to Rs. 1 Crore. The complaint pertains to a suspected fraudulent scheme connected to the sale of flats in Bandra.

A case has been registered against Proneet Prem Nath and his wife Ameesha at the Andheri Police Station. Actor Sameer Kochhar, who is the complainant in the case, outlined the sequence of events in the complaint. In December 2020, Kochhar and Varun Bangera decided to purchase flats in Bandra. They received information that Pronit Nath and his wife Amisha were developing a four-storey building in the Pali village area of Bandra West.

According to the complaint, Kochhar agreed to buy a flat for Rs 1 crore 95 lakh, while Bangera intended to purchase a flat for Rs 90 lakh. Kochhar paid Rs 58 lakh 50 thousand, and Bangera paid Rs 44 lakh 66 thousand. However, in June 2023, the accused allegedly informed them that they no longer wished to sell the flats. Subsequently, when Kochhar approached the Bombay High Court, it was discovered that the specific flat had been sold to someone else. Following this revelation, Kochhar lodged a formal complaint with the Andheri police station, prompting the initiation of a case against Proneet Prem Nath and Ameesha.
