Nagpur – Sub-inspector and constable martyred in an encounter with Naxalites in Gadchiroli; 3 policemen injured

Nagpur 18, May 2020 :  An encounter between the C-60 commando team and the Naxalites took place on Sunday in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra. Sub Inspector Dhanji Honeman (30) and Constable Kishore Atmaram were martyred in this. Three other security personnel were injured in the attack. The encounter took place in the Poyarkoti-Koparshi forest. Naxalites fled into the forest after the incident. Currently, the search operation is being run.

According to the information, the movement of Naxalites was reported near Allandi-Gundurwahi village under Kothi police station in Bhamragarh taluka in the morning. After this, a team of C60 commandos arrived, then the Naxals attacked in the forest. One of the soldiers injured in the encounter is in critical condition.

Dead bodies of the martyrs were brought by helicopter

The mortal remains of both the martyrs were brought to Gadchiroli by helicopter at 2 pm, while the injured soldiers have been admitted to the district hospital. Shaheed Honeman of Pandharpur was employed as a sub-inspector in the Rapid Action Force here for three and a half years. At the same time, Atmaram is a resident of Arvada in Bhamragadh taluka.
