Gujarat  CM distributes assistance worth Rs. 10.60 lakh to daughters of class-4 employees

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Mrs. Anandiben Patel today distributed cheques worth Rs. 10.60 lakh to daughters of class-4 employees of the state government with a view to encourage girl education under ‘Namo Gujarat Karmayogi Kalyan Nidhi Trust’ inspired by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi.

Mr. Narendra Modi took this unique initiative for the welfare of daughters of class-4 employees of the Gujarat Government in 2014 before becoming Prime Minister of India. Also, he had donated Rs. 21 lakh to the trust and expressed his desire that the government will use this fund for the welfare of the daughters.

It is to mention that ‘Namo Gujarat Karmayogi Kalyan Nidhi Trust’ has been accepting fund to encourage girl education of class-4 employees. Donation given to the trust has been exempted under income-tax act 80-G. Those who want to donate in ‘Namo Gujarat Karmayogi Kalyan Trust’ can deposit the amount in A/C no. 33989922211 of State Bank of India, New Sachivalaya Complex branch of Gandhinagar.

Chief Minister Mrs. Andndiben Patel has provided assistance of Rs. 1500 to 30,000 under 22 categories to the daughters of class-4 employees. As a result they would not have to leave study due to financial crisis. Assistance for higher education and competitive exams has also been covered under the Namo Gujarat Karmayogi Kalyan Nidhi.

On the occasion Chief Secretary Mr. G. R. Aloriya had outlined details of the assistance scheme. Additional Chief Secretary Mr. J. N. Singh and other senior officials were present.
