Nashik–Nanduri Road Widening Works Reviewed; Strict Adherence to Quality Norms Directed

Nashik, 11th August 2026: With preparations for the Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027 gaining momentum, the ongoing widening work on the Nashik–Nanduri Road in Dindori was reviewed during a site inspection conducted on Tuesday morning.

Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority (NTKMA) Commissioner Shekhar Singh inspected the ongoing works along with Public Works Department (PWD) Superintending Engineer Devendra Pawar, NTKMA deputy commissioner Yogendra Chaudhari and officials from the PWD, contractor, Project Management Consultant (PMC) and the Third-Party Quality Control (TPQC) team.

During the inspection, the progress of the road widening work and the quality of construction were reviewed in detail. The team also examined issues related to utility shifting, land-related matters, site-level bottlenecks and the proposed completion schedule.

Singh also visited the Quality Control Lab arrangements and directed the concerned agencies to ensure that all works are undertaken strictly in accordance with the prescribed technical specifications, quality standards and applicable norms. He emphasised that quality checks should be carried out systematically at every stage of the work and that any shortcomings observed during inspection should be addressed promptly.

The Commissioner directed the PWD, contractor, PMC and quality-control agencies to maintain close coordination at the site, resolve bottlenecks without delay and ensure that the project progresses as per the planned schedule. The concerned agencies were also asked to keep the required project-status details, including physical progress, quality-control measures and completion timelines, updated for regular review.

The Nashik–Nanduri Road is among the important road infrastructure works being undertaken in the region ahead of the Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027, and timely completion with due adherence to quality standards is being closely monitored by the NTKMA.
