National Golf Summit to Convene in Gurugram, Aiming to Elevate India’s Golf Industry

Pune, 30th September 2023: Anil Seolekar, President of the Golf Industry Association (GIA), announced a two-day national summit to be held at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurugram on October 5-6, 2023. The summit aims to foster growth and innovation in the golf industry.

  • The summit will feature internationally renowned speakers, including Mike Sebastian, CEO of Asian Golf, Singapore, and Greg Patterson, Founder of Tribal Magic.
  • The event will be inaugurated by Kavita Singh, President of the Women’s Golf Association of India (WGAI).
  • More than 50 greenkeepers will participate in an educational workshop led by Australian agronomist Bruce McPhee.

Summit Details

The event will be inaugurated by Kavita Singh, President of the Women’s Golf Association of India (WGAI). A distinguished lineup of international speakers will share their insights on the future of golf, offering unique perspectives to help industry professionals navigate challenges and seize opportunities.

About GIA

Established in 2011, the GIA aims to promote the game of golf and its various aspects. The association was co-founded by Anil Seolekar and Philip Ryan of PCD Golf Design Australia. This year’s summit has garnered support from other golf associations, including PGTI, WGAI, and IGU.

Educational Workshop

An educational conference for greenkeepers will run parallel to the main event, featuring more than 50 participants. The workshop will be hosted by Bruce McPhee, Senior Agronomist from the Australian Sports & Turf Management Association (ASTMA).

Industry Support and Awards

Prominent global brands have confirmed their participation in the summit. The event will also feature the GIA Awards, recognizing excellence in Indian golf. Voting for the awards is open until September 30, with winners to be announced on October 6.

“The summit promises to be an excellent platform for the exchange of ideas, networking, and exposure to cutting-edge technologies,” said GIA President Anil Seolekar. He added that a significant number of dignitaries from around the globe are expected to attend.
