National Security In Focus: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Addresses Jammu Conclave

Jammu India, 26th June 2023, On Monday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Jammu for a day-long visit. His agenda included addressing a national security conclave and reviewing the political situation in Jammu and Kashmir alongside senior BJP leaders. Welcoming him at the airport were Ravinder Raina, the Jammu and Kashmir unit chief of the BJP, and other prominent figures like Jugal Kishore, MP, and Rajinder Sharma, Jammu Mayor. Following his arrival, Singh proceeded to the University of Jammu, where the security conclave was held, aiming to showcase the achievements of the Narendra Modi-led government.

The conclave saw the participation of approximately 1,500 special invitees, comprising defence experts, retired decorated army officers, academics, doctors, and youth. During this non-political gathering, the defence minister emphasized India’s robust stance on defence matters and the security of its citizens. According to Raina, Singh was slated to share India’s “strong position” on these subjects. Subsequently, after delivering his address at the conclave, the minister was scheduled to preside over a meeting of senior BJP leaders at the party’s Trikuta Nagar headquarters. The meeting’s agenda encompassed a comprehensive assessment of the existing political situation and discussions on organizational matters, as shared by Raina.
