Pune, 15th November 2025: The Regional Transport Office (RTO) has indicated that the recent accident involving a container truck was likely caused by the driver losing control of the vehicle. The assessment follows a two-day inspection by the Pune RTO’s flying squad on Thursday and Friday.

According to officials, the front portion of the container was extensively damaged in the fire that followed the accident. Due to the severity of the damage, investigators found no evidence to support claims of brake failure. Instead, the preliminary findings suggest that loss of control led to the crash.

“The accident-affected vehicle has been inspected. The vehicle has been severely damaged due to the fire. As a result, the exact cause of the accident could not be understood. The preliminary conclusion is that the accident occurred due to the driver losing control,” said Archana Gaikwad, Regional Transport Officer (RTO), Pune.

The RTO is expected to submit a detailed report once all formal procedures are completed.
