Pune, 9th July 2022: On Friday (July 8), 40 passengers were stuck at Pune airport. The airline allegedly neither provided any food, alternative flight nor accommodation to the passengers, which caused discomfort and anger to elderly passengers. Angry passengers went to Twitter and started asking for help.

The flight was supposed to depart from Pune at 9.30 pm but Alliance Airlines informed the passengers about the delay of the flight 1 hour prior and stated that the flight will take off at 10.30 pm.

While talking to PunekarNews.in, Feroz, one of the passengers said, “No one gave us the prior notice about the flight delay. We waited in the queue for an hour and then suddenly the staff informed us that the flight got cancelled. Is this even a way to behave?”

“When we started asking questions, the staff was not helpful. For the bottle of water, we waited for an hour or so which we got after an argument,” Feroz added further.

“For 4 hours we were waiting in a queue. After the cancellation of the flight, the staff was not supportive. They were not arranging any alternative flights for us. Most of the passengers were flying to Hyderabad and sadly we do not have connecting flights to Hyderabad from Pune and Mumbai. On top of this, they were not providing refunds for tickets. They said that they will provide the money after a week or so,” Kaushik; one of the passengers told to PunekarNews.in

“According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) guidelines, it is the responsibility of the airline to arrange an alternative flight for the passengers after the cancellation of the flight along with the full accommodation. We waited for hours hoping that the staff will cooperate. But in the end, we gather together and arranged some transport for ourselves. Some people booked urgent flights to Mumbai by paying triple the amount while 20 people including myself arranged 3 Enova to reach Hyderabad,” informed Feroz.
