No Major Increase in Pune Rainfall Expected over Next Few Days, says IMD
Pune, 11th August 2026: Pune city is unlikely to witness any significant increase in rainfall intensity over the next few days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting generally cloudy conditions and very light to light showers at intervals.
The IMD has forecast moderate rainfall in parts of Pune district, while isolated areas along the ghat sections are likely to receive heavy rain. A yellow alert has been issued for the ghat areas.
Pune recorded a maximum temperature of 28.9 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 22.4 degrees Celsius. According to the IMD’s local forecast, Pune and adjoining areas are likely to remain generally cloudy over the next few days, with occasional very light to light rain.
The IMD has also indicated that rainfall intensity is unlikely to increase significantly over Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan due to unfavourable weather conditions.
A yellow alert has been issued for Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Pune, the ghat areas of Nashik, Sindhudurg, Ahilyanagar, Nandurbar, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Ratnagiri. These districts are likely to receive light to moderate showers at isolated places.
The weather department has forecast cloudy conditions, gusty winds and spells of rain at some places over the next few days. It has also warned of the possibility of localised waterlogging, disruption to traffic and tree falls in some districts, including Yavatmal, due to heavy rainfall.
Rainfall activity is likely to remain significant in the Konkan and ghat regions. Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg are likely to receive spells of rain, while rainfall intensity could increase in the ghat sections of Madhya Maharashtra. Light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunderstorms at some places, is also expected in parts of Marathwada.
