No night curfew in Pune; hotels, lodges open in PCMC areas

Pune, August 3, 2020: After Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) dropped the night curfew from its revised lockdown order, people were confused about it. However, Pune Police Joint Commissioner Ravindra Shisve has clarified that there is no night curfew in Pune now.

As per the revised lockdown orders of PMC and PCMC, people can go to playgrounds, open spaces for exercise near their homes during the day. However, the gathering of more than five persons at any public or private place is prohibited. Malls and shopping complexes will open from August 5 excluding the food court and theatres there. All persons above 65 years of age, children below 10 years and pregnant women are not allowed to step out of home except in cases of any medical emergencies. Inter-district and inter-state travel cannot be done without prior permission.

Use of the vehicle is allowed for work (wearing mask is compulsory) in the following manner:

  1. Taxi/Cab aggregator : Driver + 3

  2. Rickshaw: Driver + 2

  3. Four-wheeler: Driver + 3

  4. Two-wheeler: One Rider + One pillion (with helmet and mask)

In PCMC areas, hotels, lodges and guesthouses have been allowed to operate with 33 percent occupancy of the accommodation facilities. However, the hotels can operate with 100 percent occupancy if they have received permission for COVID-19 patients isolation/quarantine. The canteens there can cater to guests residing in the hotels, guesthouses and lodges.
