Nodal Officers Appointed at All Pune District Police Stations to Fast-Track Complaints of Senior Citizens, Transgender Persons

Pune, 16th July 2026: Nodal officers have been appointed at all police stations in Pune city, Pimpri Chinchwad and Pune rural to ensure prompt redressal of complaints filed by senior citizens, transgender persons and victims of atrocities against Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs).

The decision was taken at a meeting of the District-Level Grievance Redressal Committee chaired by the district collector.

The appointed nodal officers will be responsible for registering complaints from these vulnerable groups and ensuring that appropriate action is taken on them. The initiative also aims to ensure that complainants do not face difficulties while filing complaints at police stations and are treated with dignity and respect.

Assistant Commissioner of Social Welfare, Pune, Vishal Londhe appealed to senior citizens, transgender persons and victims of atrocities against SCs and STs to make use of the facility for speedy resolution of their grievances.
